Local Land Services is seeking a Senior Land Services Officer – Extension to deliver a targeted food safety extension program across the berry, leafy vegetable and melon sectors.

Working closely with the VegNET program, industry bodies and government partners, you will provide practical advice, deliver training and build strong relationships with growers to support the adoption of food safety best practice. The role is aligned with Local Land Services' established VegNET program, leveraging existing grower networks and trusted industry relationships to maximise engagement and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver webinars, workshops, field days and on-farm training.
  • Provide tailored technical advice and support to growers and producers.
  • Develop practical extension resources and communication materials.
  • Collaborate with NSW DPIRD Agriculture (Safe Leafy Veg Program), Local Land Services VegNET team, industry bodies and grower groups.
  • Manage projects, monitor outcomes and report on program delivery.
  • Build partnerships and facilitate collaboration across industry and government stakeholders.

About You

You will bring:

  • Experience in agricultural extension, horticulture, food safety, agronomy or a related field.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience delivering training, workshops or extension programs.
  • The ability to work in a team and be self-motivated as well as collaborating with others.
  • Sound project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to translate technical information into practical, grower-focused advice.
  • Desirable to have knowledge of horticulture production and food safety principles.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree qualifications in agriculture, natural resource management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel.
  • Ability and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearance.

Help strengthen food safety capability across NSW's berry, leafy vegetable and melon industries while supporting growers through trusted extension and education services.
