In this role you will work to address persisting and emerging issues through a strategic approach supporting local networking and agencies to work in partnership to achieve common goals and meet locally identified needs in line with Councils Community Strategic Plan and other plans that address specific community needs. This role is diverse in nature; you will work with community services and government agencies to deliver outcomes for children, young people and older residents; support First Nations and culturally diverse communities, people living with disabilities, gender and sexually diverse community members and other residents experiencing vulnerability. You will support and deliver training, support collective advocacy, coordinate sector networking, develop partnerships and coordinate community funding.

Essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Policy, Community Development, Communication or relevant area.
  • Proven experience in the development and implementation of collaborative social impact projects responding to emerging needs with clearly defined outcomes and measurement.
  • Demonstrated capacity in the design, delivery and measurement of strategies, training and events.
  • Demonstrated success delivering multiple community projects at the same time according to agreed timeframes and within budget.
  • Strong demonstrated skills in the preparation of grants submissions, report writing, presentations and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated social research skills including analysis and presentation of demographic data.

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience in providing training and/or coordinating professional development activities.
  • Experience working in the non-government or overseas aid/development context.
  • Undertaking post graduate qualifications or further study in a related field.

Salary: $103,939.00 - $120,314.00 p.a plus 11.5% Superannuation. You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review in order to progress through the recruitment process.
