We are currently looking for a Fibre Optic Technician to join our client's team. Our client is a leading telecommunications company that specializes in providing high-speed fibre optic network solutions to various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and termination of fibre optic cables and connectors.
  • Performing fibre optic splicing and testing using OTDR and other testing equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving fibre optic network issues.
  • Working with various fibre optic connectors, fusion splicers, and other tools and equipment.
  • Adhering to safety guidelines and ensuring all work is performed in a safe manner.
  • Documenting work assignments and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Communicating with team members and project managers to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry standards and latest fibre optic technologies.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in fibre optic installation, termination, and splicing.
  • Knowledge of fibre optic testing equipment such as OTDR.
  • Ability to read and interpret fibre optic plans and diagrams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different work sites.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Relevant certifications in fibre optic technology are preferred.
