Position Overview: As an RN Manager, you will oversee nursing operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while leading and mentoring a team of nursing professionals. Your leadership will be vital in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and fostering a culture of excellence in patient safety and nursing practice.
What will you do:
- Direct and coordinate all clinical activities and functions to meet the company's goals and objectives.
- Ensure that staff assignments are carried out according to the Plan of Care, plan for appropriate numbers and levels of staff, promote and evaluate quality of care and cost effectiveness, ensure efficient distribution of services, ensure patient documentation is complete and timely, and participate in policy and program development.
- Hire, develop, ensure and retain a competent, productive and quality conscious staff.
- Develop and implement processes through orientation, training and education to ensure that the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained, improved and demonstrated throughout their employment.
- Plan for and utilize fiscal and human resources.
- Demonstrate initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.
- Understand, apply and support policies, procedures and standards and participate in departmental and system-wide activities.
Requirements:
- Education/Formal Training Requirements: Associate's Degree Nursing- RN, Bachelor's Degree Nursing- RN
- Work Experience Requirements: 1-3 years in a healthcare environment, 1-3 years in lead, supervisory, or management roles
- Licenses and Certifications Requirements: Basic Life Support - BLS, Registered Nurse
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of quality improvement activities, as might be acquired through experience or training.
- Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials, such as patient records and business plans.
- Ability to lead and motivate individuals and an interdisciplinary team toward the accomplishment of organizational goals.
- Ability to communicate verbally with all levels of Associates, physicians, patients, and families.
- Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of workflow.
Supervision Provided by this Position: Supervises a team of RN's, Associates, and Team Assistants.
Physical Demands: Exposure to home care elements: inclement weather, temperature extremes, possible safety/health risks of the home environment (pets, neighborhood crime, fire, infection). The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently. The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading. Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact. Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
