Role: Soldering Technician
Location: Wellingborough
Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: £15.38 an hour, weekly pay
Temporary Opportunity until Christmas - Immediate Start Available
OA are currently looking to recruit for an experienced Soldering Technician to join a well-established client based in Wellingborough, on a temporary basis to support the team.
Duties of a Soldering Technician:
- Removal, replacement and reflow of BGA components using an automated hot air convection machine.
- Surface mount land preparation for PCB and ICs using desoldering methods.
- Reballing BGA ICs; removal of solder spheres then attaching new ones using automated equipment.
- Visual inspection for any circuit shorts or insufficient solder after placement process using a microscope.
- Carry out board modifications based on customer specifications
- Maintain strict adherence to quality processes and highlight any gaps or improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and procedures
What we would like from you:
- Experience with manual soldering methods on surface mount or through hole is required
- Familiar with BGA rework principles is desirable.
- Knowledge of IPC 7711/7721 standards will be useful.
- Experienced in using a microscope
- Proven experience in field service or electronics repair roles, especially with soldering or rework tasks.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, tweezers, and screwdrivers in electronics environments.
