An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Transport Coordinator to join our client's successful and busy distribution team.
Who are they?
Our client is a well-established distribution business with a busy transport and warehouse operation.
They are looking for an organised and reliable individual with previous experience in transport, logistics, distribution or warehousing to support the day-to-day running of the operation.
This is a varied role covering transport coordination, carrier consignments, delivery paperwork, export documentation and warehouse support.

Duties of a Transport Coordinator
- Coordinate daily carrier consignments and customer deliveries
- Process transport and warehouse paperwork
- Prepare customer delivery notes, driver paperwork and export documentation
- Liaise with drivers, carriers, customers and internal teams
- Investigate and report picking, loading and dispatch issues
- Process Purchase Orders for incoming supplier deliveries
- Keep transport records, spreadsheets and internal systems accurate and up to date
- Support stock counts and produce relevant reports
- Process customer credits and check orders
- Maintain accurate filing and transport documentation
- Answer incoming calls and deal with transport and customer queries
- Provide support to the Transport and Warehouse teams
- Cover additional duties during holidays and busy periods
What we would like from you
- Previous experience within transport, logistics, distribution, warehousing or a similar operational environment is essential
- Good understanding of transport and warehouse processes
- Good IT skills and confidence using spreadsheets and internal systems
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisation and time-management skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritise in a busy environment
- Professional telephone manner
- Positive, flexible and team-focused attitude
- Ability to use your own initiative and resolve issues effectively
Experience as a Transport Coordinator, Transport Administrator, Logistics Coordinator, Logistics Administrator, Transport Planner or within a busy distribution or warehouse environment would be advantageous.
