Role: Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative required

Salary: £27,930 per annum however this will increase to £28,930 when you have the valid VNA licence approved by the client.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Forklift Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our client's busy warehouse operation based in Stevenage.

Please note, this is not just Forklift and you will need to be happy with the Warehouse element of the role.

This role would suit a hardworking and reliable individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of warehouse duties including order picking, stock control, goods movement, loading and unloading, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Duties of a Warehouse Operative

  • Picking stock accurately to achieve daily KPI targets
  • Loading and unloading vehicles, trailers, and containers safely and efficiently
  • Checking incoming goods and booking stock into the warehouse accurately
  • Returning stock to correct warehouse locations
  • Using pallet trucks and other warehouse equipment as required
  • Assisting with stock counts and inventory checks
  • Preparing orders for dispatch and loading vehicles safely
  • Removing and segregating cardboard, plastic, and other waste for recycling
  • Operating baling equipment where required
  • Carrying out warehouse cleaning duties including sweeping and maintaining pick faces
  • Removing damaged stock and disposing of it correctly
  • Cleaning spillages and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Supporting warehouse housekeeping activities and maintaining cleanliness standards
  • Following all Health & Safety procedures and reporting hazards immediately
  • Working effectively as part of a team to achieve operational targets
  • Undertaking additional warehouse duties as required by management

  • Previous warehouse experience is preferred
  • Experience within picking, loading, unloading, or stock control environments advantageous
  • Comfortable working in a busy and physically demanding warehouse environment
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work efficiently towards targets

  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
