Role: Electrical Assembly & Test Technician

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Electrical Assembly & Test Technician to join a well-established client based in Bedfordshire.

Duties of an Electrical Assembly & Test Technician

  • Wiring and connecting complete electrical systems across machinery, including sensors, motors, actuators, and interconnects.
  • Carrying out functional testing, I/O checks, and basic fault-finding prior to commissioning.
  • Verifying signal paths and validating safe operation before software upload or HMI integration.
  • Reading and working from electrical schematics, layout drawings, and structured BOMs.
  • Supporting electrical installation tasks around the factory, including lighting circuits, distribution boards, and equipment upgrades.
  • Assisting with new machinery installations and electrical improvement projects within production areas.
  • Collaborating with other departments during machine build, including routing, alignment, and system integration activities.
  • Maintaining clear and safe working practices while delivering consistent, professional-quality builds.

What we would like from you

  • Solid background in machine wiring or industrial electrical assembly.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and wiring documentation.
  • Practical experience with control devices, drives, sensors, and motors, including DOL and VFD configurations.
  • Confident in identifying and resolving electrical faults during build and testing.
  • Flexible in adapting between workshop build tasks and electrical support work.
  • Positive attitude, good team-working skills, and strong attention to workmanship quality.
  • Electrical installation experience within industrial, commercial, or domestic environments would be desirable.
  • Recognised qualifications such as 18th Edition or equivalent would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to automation systems, PLC/HMI architecture, or drive commissioning tools would be beneficial.
  • Experience within food machinery, process equipment, or OEM manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
