Role: Electrical Assembly & Test Technician
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Electrical Assembly & Test Technician to join a well-established client based in Bedfordshire.
Duties of an Electrical Assembly & Test Technician
- Wiring and connecting complete electrical systems across machinery, including sensors, motors, actuators, and interconnects.
- Carrying out functional testing, I/O checks, and basic fault-finding prior to commissioning.
- Verifying signal paths and validating safe operation before software upload or HMI integration.
- Reading and working from electrical schematics, layout drawings, and structured BOMs.
- Supporting electrical installation tasks around the factory, including lighting circuits, distribution boards, and equipment upgrades.
- Assisting with new machinery installations and electrical improvement projects within production areas.
- Collaborating with other departments during machine build, including routing, alignment, and system integration activities.
- Maintaining clear and safe working practices while delivering consistent, professional-quality builds.
What we would like from you
- Solid background in machine wiring or industrial electrical assembly.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and wiring documentation.
- Practical experience with control devices, drives, sensors, and motors, including DOL and VFD configurations.
- Confident in identifying and resolving electrical faults during build and testing.
- Flexible in adapting between workshop build tasks and electrical support work.
- Positive attitude, good team-working skills, and strong attention to workmanship quality.
- Electrical installation experience within industrial, commercial, or domestic environments would be desirable.
- Recognised qualifications such as 18th Edition or equivalent would be advantageous.
- Exposure to automation systems, PLC/HMI architecture, or drive commissioning tools would be beneficial.
- Experience within food machinery, process equipment, or OEM manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
