We are looking for a 6 week temporary, friendly, organised and customer focused Receptionist to join the Innovation Centre Medway team (fixed hours 9.36am - 5.30pm). This is a hands on operational role supporting the smooth day to day running of Innovation Centre Medway and will include administrative tasks using bespoke computer software. The postholder will play a key role in maintaining a safe and well presented environment for tenants, visitors and staff, while working closely with the wider site team. They must be a qualified Fire Warden and First Aider.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operate the main reception desk, welcoming tenants and visitors in person, by phone and by email.
- Using bespoke software and Microsoft products, manage meeting room bookings and prepare meeting and conference facilities including end of month reporting.
- Provide administrative support across Innovation Centre activity, including finance, property and café services.
- Support the Front of House Manager and Centre Manager with ad hoc tasks as required.
- Manage and support front of house IT systems such as door entry system, telephones, AV equipment, photocopier and scanner.
- Carry out Health and Safety duties – including acting as a Fire Warden and supporting evacuations when required, and maintaining compliance with site safety procedures.
- Act as a First Aider, providing initial response when required and maintaining first aid arrangements on site.
Experience
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and be willing to learn other ICT systems such as the bespoke meeting room system and SharePoint.
- Experience of working with the public and/or customers.
- Either have the fire evacuations training or be willing to undertake.
- At least two years’ experience working in a reception or equivalent customer service role.
