Jo Holdsworth Recruitment are excited to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected organisation to appoint a permanent Operations and Transport Manager to a key leadership position within the business.

The Role

This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational and transport activities at a key site. The role plays a central part in ensuring smooth operations, effective team leadership and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. You will work closely with senior leadership to support operational performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall management of depot-based operations and transport activity
  • Leadership, motivation and development of an operational team
  • Oversight of fleet and operational resources
  • Coordination of daily operational and delivery schedules
  • Acting as a point of escalation for operational issues
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant transport, health & safety and operational regulations
  • Maintaining service standards and supporting positive customer outcomes
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes and performance

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience within an operations, transport or logistics environment
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Calm, proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Experience working within hazardous good industry
  • Confident working with systems and operational data
  • Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) - desirable

Hours: Monday to Friday – 6:30am to 4:00pm

Salary: Β£50,000 - Β£55,000 DOE with scope for bonus based on performance
