Previous book-keeping and VAT returns experience needed. A team player is essential for this friendly organisation.
The role involves:
- Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
- Preparation of self-assessment tax returns
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Assisting with management accounts where required
- Maintaining bookkeeping records and completing reconciliations
- Posting journals including accruals and prepayments
- Acting as day-to-day contact for clients
- Liaising with clients to obtain records and resolve queries
- Managing assignments to meet deadlines and budgets
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and in line with firm procedures
What we are looking for:
- 2–4 years’ experience within an accountancy practice or within industry
- Experience preparing accounts for a range of entity types
- Good working knowledge of VAT and tax compliance
- Strong IT skills including Excel and cloud software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks)
- Strong attention to detail
- Organised and able to manage workload independently
- Professional and confident in client interactions
- Positive and team-oriented approach
Additional information: Hours: Mon to Fri 36 hours per week 1 day working from home with 4 on site. Job type: Permanent full time (but will consider school hours).
