This is an exciting opportunity to lead development projects for a wide range of high-profile clients, delivering creative, practical solutions in a technically challenging environment. Overview
The successful candidate will lead and manage R&D projects from concept to production, delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of demanding clients. This role requires a creative, hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Generate innovative ideas for new products and improvements, anticipating customer needs
- Respond quickly to client requests, adapting or creating bespoke solutions where required
- Take ownership of projects, running them independently or as part of a team
- Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders on project progress
- Deliver projects from initial concept through to final production
- Build and test prototypes, including installations at customer sites in challenging conditions
- Act as a technical resource for the design team and wider engineering function
- Prepare technical reports to support company R&D activities
- Attend customer meetings on-site or remotely to provide engineering guidance
- Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation and advise on compliance requirements
- Maintain personal skills and training to ensure competence and development
Key Skills & Experience
- HND or BSc in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience with CAD software (Autodesk preferred)
- Knowledge of FEA testing and reporting
- Hands-on prototyping skills and practical engineering experience
- Full UK driving licence
