The Role
As Operations Manager, you'll take ownership of the smooth running of the office environment, ensuring colleagues, visitors and senior stakeholders enjoy a professional, safe and well-organised workplace.
Working closely with senior leadership, you'll oversee facilities, Health & Safety, supplier management and executive support, while managing a small team responsible for front-of-house services.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing strategic planning with a hands-on approach and can confidently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of a busy head office, ensuring it is safe, compliant and running efficiently.
- Take ownership of all Health & Safety and workplace compliance, ensuring statutory obligations, audits, fire safety procedures and risk assessments are maintained.
- Manage facilities, maintenance projects, contractors and workplace improvements.
- Coordinate Executive and Board meetings, including scheduling, agendas, meeting papers, minute taking and action tracking.
- Lead the reception and front-of-house function, ensuring an exceptional experience for visitors and employees.
- Manage workplace suppliers and service contracts, negotiating where appropriate to ensure value for money.
- Oversee workplace budgets, insurance renewals and operational expenditure.
- Support office moves, refurbishment projects and wider business initiatives.
- Work closely with HR and IT to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new employees.
- Be the go-to person for operational issues, responding quickly and effectively as challenges arise.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership and genuinely cares about creating an efficient, well-run workplace.
You'll ideally have
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager, Office Manager, Workplace Manager or Facilities Manager role.
- Health & Safety experience is essential, with a strong understanding of workplace compliance, fire safety and statutory obligations.
- Experience coordinating Executive or Board meetings and supporting senior stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience managing suppliers, contractors and service agreements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to make decisions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
