Jo Holdsworth Recruitment are excited to be working with a forward-thinking legal services organisation to recruit an IT trainer to join their collaborative IT team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people learn, thrive, and get the very best from technology in a professional services environment.

The Role

Working closely with the IT Director, projects team and wider IT function, you’ll play a key role in delivering engaging, practical training that supports colleagues across the business. While experience in a legal environment is helpful, it’s not essential — what matters most is your passion for learning, confidence with systems training, and ability to adapt your approach to different audiences. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, visibility, and making a real impact on how people work day to day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training Delivery
    • Deliver engaging IT training to colleagues at all levels, including senior stakeholders
    • Organise and run new-starter induction training
    • Provide follow-up sessions to support ongoing development
    • Deliver “business as usual” training as part of a wider learning and development programme
    • Promote best practice and continuous improvement in system usage
    • Use a blended learning approach including classroom, desk-side, one-to-one and e-learning
  • Training Design & Content
    • Support the design and development of training programmes
    • Create and maintain training materials, user guides and e-learning content
    • Keep learning resources accurate, relevant and up to date
    • Maintain clear and accurate learner development records
  • Coordination & Support
    • Manage incoming training requests and schedule sessions
    • Maintain attendance and training records
    • Respond to training queries and provide ongoing support
    • Work closely with IT, support teams and departmental leaders to identify training needs
    • Carry out training needs analysis and follow-up activity
    • Take ownership of the organisation’s learning and development platform

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in an IT training or systems training role
  • Confidence delivering training using a range of methods and formats
  • Experience training users on Microsoft 365 applications
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with a wide range of audiences
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work proactively
  • A calm, positive and practical approach

Experience with the following systems would be advantageous:

  • Document management systems
  • Practice management and billing systems
  • Learning management systems
  • Experience with collaboration tools, email security, telephony or digital dictation systems (not essential)

Working Pattern
