About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a busy, established business as a Financial Lead. This is a pivotal role responsible for recording, managing, and maintaining all daily financial transactions, reporting directly to the joint owners. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping and finance experience, with a proven ability to manage payroll, Sage accounts, credit control, and general office administration. As the main point of contact for finance and office operations, you will ensure all financial and administrative processes run smoothly while supporting the wider business team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full bookkeeping including sales and purchase ledgers, invoicing, payroll, and credit control.
  • Daily management of Sage: posting invoices, purchase orders, supplier receipts, and reconciling accounts.
  • Manage online banking and finances: reconciliations, VAT, tax submissions, staff and project payments.
  • Maintain and update Excel records for projects, cashflow, and overheads.
  • Liaise with accountants for monthly reporting, salaries, and tax compliance.
  • Support general office operations: insurance, utilities, office suppliers, and vendor management.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in financial administration and bookkeeping.
  • Strong knowledge of Sage, including reporting and journals.
  • High level of organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Ability to manage payroll, financial reconciliations, and office processes.
  • Confident, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Location: Headingley LS6
Hours: 18 hours per week, flexible working offered!
