Supplier Manager / Commercial Lead – London – SC Cleared – £300-320pd (Umbrella Rate)

An initial 6-month contract working on a hybrid (2 days) basis in London as a Supplier Manager / Commercial Lead for a highly respected Financial Services client.

Taking responsibility for the supply chain (inc. commercial strategy) this position will align itself to specific business areas (e.g. Corporate, Facilities Management & Technology) so experience with any or all would be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Stakeholder management, promoting internal procurement policy and supplier management standards.
  • Development of category strategies.
  • Managing strategic commercial priorities.
  • Delivery of pipeline of work agreed with business areas, inc. procurement exercises, developing markets and realising value.
  • Establish and maintain a multi-year procurement pipeline of work.
  • Ownership of any supplier dispute processes or complex negotiations
  • have accountability for Gold suppliers and any cross tower (e.g. Framework) suppliers.
  • Support effective contract and supplier management, helping implement frameworks developed by Supplier Management team.
  • Risk management, implementing risk controls.
  • Usage of eProcurement systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required

Technical capabilities:

  • Proven experience managing a complex set of suppliers and stakeholders to achieve Commercial optimisation across a timeline.
  • Delivering innovative commercial solutions through the application of strategic planning techniques
  • Experience of PCR-level public procurement, including using public-sector frameworks
  • Experience of working in a client-focused environment on whole project life cycles
  • Experience of supplier and/or contract management (post-contract award)
  • MCIPS qualification (or equivalent Commercial experience)
