We are currently working with a business with operations across the UK that is recruiting for a Cyber Security Operations Lead to join them on a permanent basis. The role will be a combination of hands-on and leadership, overseeing Information and Cyber Security Analysts and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day security operations. This is a hybrid role, initially with two-to-three days per week on-site, then reducing to one day per week on-site.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and supporting Security Analysts, including triage of incidents
  • Ensuring that the team perform scheduled checks, maintain security controls and resolve any user issues
  • Owning and developing the relationship with the outsourced SOC team
  • Working closely with engineers to ensure security controls remain up to date
  • Carrying out reporting on security incidents, ensuring relevant reporting metrics are in place
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and improvement in tools and workflows
  • Running programmes to test security controls and measures
  • Helping to develop a culture of security across the business

Key skills and experience:

  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and motivate security teams
  • Vast hands-on experience in SOC or Cyber Security Analyst roles
  • Excellent understanding of and experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, IAM etc.
  • Experience working with ISO27001 and/or similar control frameworks
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
  • Able to maintain a calm approach whilst under pressure
  • Eligible for SC Clearance
