We are currently working with a well-known charity based in central London that is actively recruiting for a Senior Cloud and Security Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. The role will involve working with technologies from multiple vendors, ensuring best practices are followed across cloud infrastructure and security, driving forward the organisations cloud-first approach. This is a hybrid role with at least two days per week on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as technical authority across AWS cloud and security solutions
- Maintaining AWS services, ensuring that architectural designs and standards are followed
- Working closely with Security Engineers to ensure that security policies and best practices are implemented and the organisation adheres to data privacy and regulatory requirements
- Utilising Infrastructure as Code to carry out repeat deployments
- Providing incident response to major security events
- Acting as a technical escalation point during security incidents
- Providing technical input into the security architecture of the organisation
- Building CI/CD pipelines, enabling secure deployments of cloud-native infrastructure
- Writing automation scripts to improve infrastructure efficiency
- Managing data controls as well as access management design
Experience required:
- 8+ years experience in similar cloud security roles
- Comfortable working with AWS and Azure services in medium-sized multi-cloud organisations
- Experience with AWS services including Control Tower, Account Factory, GuardDuty and Inspector
- Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform or Cloudformation)
- Automation scripting experience with Bash, PowerShell or similar
- Extensive experience with GitLab and GitHub
- Strong network security knowledge
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automation
- Knowledge of DevOps/DevSecOps
