JN Bentley is seeking an enthusiastic and positive Skilled Operative Groundworker located in or around the Rochdale area to join an existing Groundworks gang working across the region. In this role you will work as part of a gang on various construction sites, predominantly within the water industry. A proactive attitude towards work, health and safety, and experience ideally in general civil work, concreting, deep drainage and pipe laying is required. The ideal candidate should be multi-skilled and able to work on the machines as well as on the ground within the gang. This role is not for a dedicated Plant Operative.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a wide range of civil engineering – particularly general civil work, concreting, deep drainage and pipe‑laying, and experience in the water industry is required.
  • Minimum requirements include a CSCS Touchscreen and a 1‑day Health & Safety Awareness course.
  • Ideally you hold CPCS/NOCN or NPORs plant tickets, plant cards and an NVQ for 360‑excavator, forward‑tipping dumper, ride‑on roller, and telehandler.
  • Advantageous qualifications include National Water Hygiene Card, Slinger/Signaller, confined spaces, City & Guilds, NRASWA, lifting operations, and a driving licence.
