About the Role

JN Bentley offers apprenticeships that are hands‑on from day one. With a dedicated mentor, you will gain valuable experience and develop key civil‑engineering and construction operations skills on live sites.

What You’ll Do

• Gain experience working on live construction projects.
• Work alongside the Site Manager and Site Engineer to understand full site operations, from set‑up, construction, commissioning, hand‑over and completion.
• Learn to set out line and level of structures and pipework in line with construction drawings using surveying equipment (GPS, total station, dumpy level, pipe laser).
• Carry out required quality assurancegeführt and complete ITRs (Inspection and Test Records) in line with company procedures.
• Assist the Site Manager and Site Engineer with supervising safety, health and environment on site.
• Help run the day‑to‑day operations of the site, including requisition of materials and plant and processing delivery tickets.
• Produce as‑built surveys and records.

What You’ll Need

• 5 GCSEs, including grade 4 in English and Maths.
• 1–2 A Levels or equivalent (BTEC/T Level) in a relevant subject.
• A valid driving licence.
• Team‑work skills.
• Effective analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative, meet deadlines and handle pressure.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel to sites across your operational region.
