As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll work on a diverse portfolio of Yorkshire Water projects that make a real difference to customers, communities and the environment.
These include clean water and wastewater treatment schemes, network infrastructure projects such as mains renewals, reservoir safety works, environmental improvement projects and storm overflow reduction programmes.
You will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from early contractor involvement, optioneering and tender negotiations through to design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
You will help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Your role as Senior Quantity Surveyor includes
- Ensuring robust cost management processes are in place, providing accurate and timely reports, data and analysis to support commercial decision-making.
- Leading procurement activities and supply chain engagement to secure best value and successful project outcomes.
- Managing commercial relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, including tendering, procurement and performance management.
- Working closely with delivery teams to identify, implement and monitor efficiency improvements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Actively challenging project teams to drive value for clients and stakeholders.
- Ensuring project teams understand contractual arrangements and commercial obligations.
- Supporting clients to maximise opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Influencing and advising on contractual and commercial matters.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Providing guidance, mentoring and support to junior commercial staff.
What you'll need
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related discipline (preferred).
- Experience and knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Experience in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience leading the commercial management of multidisciplinary construction projects.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior commercial staff.
