Engineering is at the very core of what we do. Be it civil, mechanical or electrical, our hybrid engineers work both remotely and on-site, playing a practical, hands-on role in the successful delivery of projects.

We have been named a partner on a new AMP8 framework with United Utilities, which will extend our relationship for at least the next five years. The partnership is set to be responsible for over £3bn of major infrastructure in the North West of England. Investment includes upgrades to wastewater treatment works and reducing storm overflows through the delivery of the largest spill reduction programme in the UK, protecting more than 500km of rivers and bathing waters.

As an Electrical Engineer you'll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities - from improving flood defences, to upgrading water treatment works and providing nature-based solutions that improve biodiversity. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the electrical functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects. From concept design to commissioning, you will ensure that all electrical aspects are meticulously considered and integrated.

The role of an Electrical Engineer includes:

  • Planning and programming the electrical aspects of projects, working with design and operational teams to support the design, planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of projects.
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, civil, and process engineers, to be responsible for electrical safety on projects and electrical systems into broader project designs.
  • During the construction phase, duties will include overseeing subcontractors, ensuring installations meet standards, implementing testing, reviewing technical risk and method statements, and implementing electrical safety.
  • Additionally, creating commissioning plans, inspection and test plans, acceptance documents, training materials, and completion documentation.

What you’ll need:

  • CSCS, ECS or JIB
  • HNC / Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working to electrical procedures, including providing Electrical Permits
  • Understand civil engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region

What’s in it for you:

Alongside our significant training and development investment, bespoke progression plan and support to achieve professional chartership, we offer a wide range of financial, lifestyle, health and wellbeing benefits that you can tailor to your needs.
