The team supports the entire company, including operational teams, in ensuring that Mott Mac Donald Bentley work safely, avoid environmental harm, safeguard the occupational health of our employees and deliver quality projects to our clients.
As a SHEQ Advisor you’ll work with various partners within the water sector on projects that enhance our environment and communities as part of an area of the business that is different to all other units in that we work across a large number of clients across different sector.
As a SHEQ Advisor you will
- Carry out site inspections, advisory visits, investigations, and briefings, acting as a visible and hands‑on champion of Health, Safety & Environmental best practice.
- Manage and record a structured programme of Safety and Environmental site visits including inspections, advisory visits, and engagement tours to ensure compliance with the Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
- Attend pre‑site meetings to provide expert Health, Safety & Environmental guidance prior to project commencement.
- Support incident investigations by gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and producing reports in line with Safety/Environmental Management System procedures.
- Act as a key point of contact for Design and Construction teams, providing H&S and Environmental advice.
- Develop and deliver H&S/Environmental training as required.
What you’ll need
- Demonstrated experience supporting safety and environmental plans in complex environments, with strong capability in using and adapting digital technologies to enhance performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with strong analytical ability to interpret detailed information and regulations; committed to maintaining high HSE standards.
- Certified member of IOSH/CMIOSH H&S professional or Chartered/Experienced Environmental professional.
- Experience working within construction.
- Willingness to travel as required & stay overnight occasionally.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and product quality processes.
Desirable
- Experience in Civil Engineering and the Water Industry.
- Experience working in a Design & Build (D&B) organisation.
