Mott Mac Donald Bentley are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA).

The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8.

Beyond this we have a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8.

What will you be doing as our new Site Engineer?

Our site engineers play a critical part to successful deliver of our projects.

You’ll be managing the day-to-day quality assurance, including surveying, setting out duties, quality checks and approvals.

You’ll also be assisting the site management teams with all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day site quality assurance, including surveying, setting out duties, quality checks and approvals.
  • Supporting the Site Manager to liaise with the Engineering and Integration team to resolve conflicts and ensure work is carried out in line with specifications and drawings.
  • Assisting the site management teams with all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management, liaising with commercial, procurement and planning teams and supply chain management.
  • Supporting the Site Manager in calling off materials, stock control etc. and liaising with procurement team to ensure orders are not exceeded without authority.
  • Highlight any areas of concern before they become an issue.
  • Do the right thing to ensure programme, quality and cost are delivered.
  • Always explore alternatives to identify better ways of delivery the need.
  • Look to minimise waste by ordering the required materials to optimise project performance.
  • In all activities strive to minimise capital carbon through innovation, substitution and eliminations.

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours

  • CSCS and SSSTS
  • HNC / Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Understand civil engineering principles and practices
  • An understanding of methods, materials and technical aspects relevant to the project
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
