Mott MacDonald Bentley is a key Asset Delivery Partner for Scottish Water’s new Enterprise, part of their SR27 investment programme. The Enterprise is set to deliver £9bn of major infrastructure investment between 2027 and 2033, enhancing Scotland’s water and wastewater assets. It will help preserve the nation’s world-class water quality, protect the environment and ensure services continue to meet the needs of customers.
As part of our appointment to Scottish Water’s new Enterprise, we will deliver projects at sites across Scotland. Works will include major upgrades to treatment assets, new and enhanced networks, and resilience schemes that will benefit communities across the country.
Over successive regulatory periods, MMB has delivered a wide range of complex water and wastewater projects that directly support SR27 priorities, including:
- Enhancing resilience and service reliability through treatment works upgrades, network improvements and resilience schemes
- Supporting net zero and climate adaptation via low carbon design, nature-based solutions and environmental compliance projects
- Enabling sustainable growth by delivering infrastructure that supports new development and protects existing communities

As a Quantity Surveyor you'll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities - from improving flood defences, to upgrading water treatment works and providing nature-based solutions that improve biodiversity. You will be involved throughout the entire project life cycle, from early contractor involvement, optioneering, tender negotiation through to the design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover of schemes.
The role of a Quantity Surveyor includes:
- Ensuring robust cost management processes are in place, providing accurate and timely reports, data, and analysis to assist in commercial decisions.
- Working closely with the delivery team to identify, implement, and monitor efficiency plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensuring all project team members understand the contractual arrangements to meet client requirements.
- Supporting our clients to maximise opportunities and mitigate risks to help deliver successful outcomes.
- Influencing the contractual and commercial aspects of schemes to ensure robust project control.
- Fostering and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring clear communication, understanding client needs, and delivering value through effective cost management and project delivery.
What you’ll need:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field
- A practical mindset, good math skills, the ability to solve problems and manage project finances.
- A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
