As part of our appointment to Scottish Water’s new Enterprise, we will deliver projects at sites across Scotland.
Works will include major upgrades to treatment assets, new and enhanced networks, and resilience schemes that will benefit communities across the country.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities - from improving flood defences, to upgrading water treatment works and providing nature-based solutions that improve biodiversity.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the electrical functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects.
From concept design to commissioning, you will ensure that all electrical aspects are meticulously considered and integrated.
The role of Senior Electrical Engineer includes
- Manage client, system integrator and cabling contractor installations, including instrumentation, industrial networks, LVDBs/MCCs, PLCs and SCADA systems.
- Support the planning, design integration, construction and commissioning of electrical installations, with a focus on LVDBs and MCCs.
- Assist pre-construction activities, including surveys, scoping and procurement.
- Oversee construction delivery, including outage planning, subcontractor management, programme coordination and electrical safety compliance.
- Produce and review SSOWs, outage plans and RAMS.
- Drive quality assurance through inspection and test plans, acceptance documentation, training materials, defect management and BS7671 compliance.
- Support and mentor Electrical Engineers.
- Lead the functional commissioning of electrical assets, including final circuits, distribution equipment and MCCs.
- Manage project close-out, ensuring accurate as-constructed records and completion documentation.
- Build strong client relationships and support the achievement of project objectives.
What you’ll need
Essential
- HNC / Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work-based experience.
- SSSTS, SMSTS or equivalent.
- Proficient in understanding of engineering drawings such as single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, termination drawings and system architecture.
- Understanding of civil engineering and MEICA construction.
- Understanding of relevant British & International Standards with a good knowledge of Client and WIMES standards.
- Previous AP or SAP experience.
- To be working towards professional registration with an appropriate body.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
Desirable
- Experience of the Water & Wastewater Industry and Tier 1 contracting.
- An experience working with pumps, pipework, valves, screens, scrapers, mixers, blowers.
