Our Corporate Regulation offering sits within the Commercial Litigation department and provides advice to a range of high profile clients, including working alongside regulatory bodies and government departments. We specialise in complex regulatory matters, often collaborating with colleagues across the firm to support clients in meeting evolving corporate responsibility and compliance obligations. We regularly participate in lobbying activity, media commentary and TV engagements. Our work is fast paced, high profile particularly within the parking management sector and often at the forefront of regulatory change.

The successful candidate will have genuine scope to shape the direction of the practice and accelerate their own career. We are seeking a qualified Solicitor (1 - 3 PQE) to provide expert advice to clients on a range of regulatory issues with a particular focus on data protection.

Key Responsibilities

Whilst we have a particular niche in private land parking management, you will be involved in a variety of corporate regulatory and compliance matters, including:

  • Data protection compliance, ICO guidance, including handling complex and cross border data compliance issues, assisting with DSAR responses and maintaining and drafting privacy/data protection policies, managing data breach response plans, readiness assessments, risk assessments and audits
  • Management and enforcement of International commercial land (private land, airports, ports, railways etc.)
  • Large scale and complex Government Consultation and linked regulatory obligations and lobbying.
  • Consumer rights obligations and protection, including general product safety and recall, Advertising standards (ASA, CAP codes)
  • Managing, supporting Lawline offerings to trade associations and developing products to member organisations
  • Corporate responsibility and reputation management
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of legal and regulatory developments.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

This is a varied role and would suit candidates with 1-3 years’ PQE (strong candidates outside this range will also be considered). You will also bring:

  • Experience across a range of corporate regulatory issues
  • Specific expertise in advising clients on the corporate responsibility, compliance and regulatory aspects relating to data protection would be ideal
  • Experience with reputation management assistance would be ideal
  • An aptitude for business development and relationship building
  • An interest in developing articles, blogs and preparing and presenting webinars and involvement in their social media reach
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and drafting abilities
  • A collaborative mindset
  • Good time recording and billing skills
  • An ambitious, driven approach with a desire to contribute to team growth.
