We are seeking an ambitious and talented Family Solicitor to become part of our supportive, dynamic and highly regarded team in Liverpool - an opportunity that offers a diverse caseload of family matters. Our Family Law teams, based in Manchester, London and Liverpool, offer expertise and essential support, whether it be a divorce, civil partnership dissolution, negotiating a prenuptial agreement or an issue regarding arrangements for children both nationally and internationally.
The Liverpool office is a close-knit team, led by Partner Beverley Jones, who has been recognised year on year since 2014 as a top tier lawyer in both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners. JMW’s team of Family law solicitors is known for achieving excellent results for our clients. Key Responsibilities
- You’ll play a key part in the delivery of legal services to our clients, utilising your specialist expertise to provide advice, guidance and/or representation which is accurate, timely and pragmatic.
- Effective communication with clients and other relevant parties (such as witnesses, experts and counsel) will be essential as your core tasks will typically include acting on the instructions of clients to:
- Draft legal documents, tailored to meet their specific needs
- Conduct thorough research, and analyse legislation and/or case law, to ensure the adoption of the best approach in the circumstances
Your key responsibilities will involve:
- Building and establishing strong relationships with the firm’s client base and working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to deliver an effective and seamless client experience.
- Managing a varied caseload of clients in a profitable and efficient manner, including the opening, maintaining and closure of files and the timely invoicing of all matters, including both work in progress and disbursements.
- Taking responsibility for your financial contribution to the firm, including meeting expected levels of chargeable recoverable hours, ensuring accurate and timely time recording, and supporting effective billing and cash collection performance.
- Maintaining your expertise by staying up to date with new legal developments and changes in legislation, meeting CPD and compliance requirements.
- Taking opportunities to assist in the development of the department. You’ll be encouraged to grow your own network of work introducers.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Qualified Solicitor with up to around 3 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Experience of preparing, planning and effectively running cases in connection with Family work, including assisting on a range of work involving:
- Divorce and financial remedy.
- Pre and post nuptial agreements.
- Privately funded children work.
