The Real Estate Residential team, based in JMWās City of London office, are recruiting for a Paralegal to assist an experienced solicitor in the management of their caseload. Applicants must have good knowledge of the conveyancing process and have excellent communication skills. Our Real Estate Residential teams in London and Manchester assist individuals throughout the whole conveyancing process with a customer-centric service of the highest quality. They deal with purchase/sale, remortgage, builders & developers, New Build, Right to Buy, Shared Ownership and Transfer of Equity.
Skills and Experience Required
- Full understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
- A good knowledge of general conveyancing and related topics.
- Full knowledge of land registry practices.
Role Responsibilities
- Receiving telephone calls into the department; dealing with the calls as far as is possible and directing the calls where appropriate.
- Dealing with enquiries to appropriate level of knowledge and experience as directed by Supervisors.
- Making calls to clients and third parties involved in the conveyancing transaction.
- Ordering searches (where applicable).
- Responding promptly to requests for updates from clients, estate agents, brokers and introducers.
- Preparing contract packs in relation to sale transactions.
- Ordering documents from HMLR.
- Ordering bankruptcy searches, priority searches and company searches.
- Preparing files for completion- including the preparation of the financials and completing the details in a Certificate of Title and preparing the CoT and file for sign off by appropriate supervisor and / partner in the department.
- Ensuring that the case management is fully up to date.
- Issuing documentation to client for signature when requested to do so by supervisors.
- Preparing mortgage reports and search reports for clients.
