This role is responsible for safeguarding the health and welfare of our pigs, ensuring each farm unit meets legal obligations and complies with welfare standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactive approach to championing best practice, company legislation, and Animal Welfare standards within our business.
- Perform general health checks on stock across the units.
- Support Farm Manager / Growers on Animal Welfare Standards to improve and maintain the welfare of stock.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections according to the audit schedule, ensuring non‑conformances and follow‑up actions are closed off in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed and accurate health and welfare records.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and promote the work of the organisation.
- Provide support to the wider Technical Department.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Animal Care/Animal Welfare Qualification or equivalent.
- Previous experience handling animals.
- Knowledge of Animal Welfare standards and legislation.
- Proficient administration skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Self‑motivated with a can‑do attitude.
- Full Clean driving licence.
