This role is responsible for safeguarding the health and welfare of our pigs, ensuring each farm unit meets legal obligations and complies with welfare standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactive approach to championing best practice, company legislation, and Animal Welfare standards within our business.
  • Perform general health checks on stock across the units.
  • Support Farm Manager / Growers on Animal Welfare Standards to improve and maintain the welfare of stock.
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections according to the audit schedule, ensuring non‑conformances and follow‑up actions are closed off in a timely manner.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate health and welfare records.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and promote the work of the organisation.
  • Provide support to the wider Technical Department.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Animal Care/Animal Welfare Qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience handling animals.
  • Knowledge of Animal Welfare standards and legislation.
  • Proficient administration skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated with a can‑do attitude.
  • Full Clean driving licence.
