We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Technician to support the build, wiring, and installation of bespoke industrial machinery and automated systems.
This role is suited to someone with strong practical electrical skills who enjoys building, wiring, and commissioning real equipment.
You will work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts to deliver safe, reliable electrical systems.
The role involves close collaboration with mechanical technicians and engineers to complete machine builds, control panels, and on-site installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Wire industrial machinery, including motors, sensors, actuators, and control devices
- Build and wire control panels for automated systems
- Install and terminate cabling, glands, trunking, and containment
- Wire, test, and calibrate sensors and actuators
- Support electrical installation and commissioning activities
- Work alongside mechanical technicians during machine assembly and installation
- Build from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and as-built drawings
- Maintain high standards of electrical safety, workmanship, and documentation
- Must Haves
- Strong hands-on electrical installation and wiring skills
- Experience wiring industrial machinery or control systems
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Good knowledge of electrical safety and safe working practices
- Practical problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Nice to Haves
- Experience with automation systems (PLCs, sensors, field devices)
- Experience in control panel build and panel wiring
- Exposure to domestic or commercial electrical installations
- Experience commissioning or fault-finding electrical systems
- Understanding of basic control circuits and industrial standards
- Minimum Qualifications
