A global bespoke automation business is seeking Mechanical Fitters. The role offers excellent training, including a visit to the global head office in Germany for product training. Our client is part of a prestigious global engineering group, recognised as a market leader in designing, developing, and manufacturing bespoke equipment and automation for the aerospace industry. They have cultivated a unique, mature, supportive, and positive culture with minimal staff turnover.

Experience / Background Required:

  • Time-served Apprenticeship & proven mechanical fitting / production experience within an engineering environment.
  • Able to read technical drawings.
  • High levels of attention to detail.
  • Positive approach to customer service (both internal and external customers).
  • Good workload management skills with the ability to react positively to changing demands.
  • Interpersonal skills including good spoken and hand-written communication.
  • Adequate level of physical fitness, mobility, and dexterity for fitting and customer training.

The role of Mechanical Fitter:

  • Prepare, fit, and repair component parts and equipment, including all aspects of metal-work, hand/power tools, and typical workshop equipment.
  • Maintain departmental tools, ensuring they are kept in good repair and receive regular maintenance.
  • Manage individually assigned workload, working with the departmental team leader to meet production targets.
  • Ownership of production quality checks before distribution or progressing to another department.
  • React quickly to changing demands and re-prioritise workload based on production and sales information.
