JMP Selection Ltd is retained by a growing operation to source an Interim Financial Controller for a multi-site operation. You will work with senior colleagues across our Operations and Head Office functions, as well as colleagues across our sites. This role suits a commercial qualified finance controller who is hands-on, detail orientated and technically excellent. You will have strong IT (ideally Sage) and Excel skills and the ability to pick up and improve new systems quickly.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring efficient and smooth running of day-to-day finance operations
  • Production of insightful monthly management information in line with group accounting policies and timings
  • Development and documentation of core finance processes, controls and accounting policies designed to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensuring that the Finance MI and Financial reporting systems are fit for purpose and capture and record all transactions accurately
  • Supporting the CFO in leading the development of a strong performance culture throughout the Finance team
  • Leading on ad hoc finance process improvement initiatives to optimise performance of core finance processes
  • Supporting the preparation of budgets and forecasting in line with Group requirements and timetables
  • Managing clinic and legal entity balance sheets ensuring regular reconciliations are carried out
  • Ensuring strong cash management is in place
  • Ensuring timely and accurate tax and VAT returns are made, liaising with Groups tax advisors to optimise the Groups tax position
  • Supervising the work of a small finance team, responsible for core accounting operations
  • Researching technical accounting issues for internal and external compliance
  • Acting as key point of contact with external auditors and ensuring all requirements are met in line with statutory reporting timelines

This is an ideal role for an immediately available qualified accountant who has a commercial flair and can work in a hybrid model in Falkirk. The role starts as a 6 month contract but has an option for becoming permanent.
