JMK Group is continuing its growth and expansion across the UK and we are now seeking an experienced UK Construction Director to lead our construction, refurbishment and capital development programme. This is a senior leadership role within the Group. You will be responsible for delivering new hotel developments and major refurbishment projects safely, on time and within budget. Working across a portfolio that includes globally recognised brands such as Hilton, IHG and Marriott, the successful candidate will ensure full compliance with brand technical services standards while protecting long-term asset value and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multi-site hotel developments and refurbishment programmes
- Review the design of the projects to ensure they are built with compliance of building regulations and brand standards
- Monitor projects are being built to budget and to programme
- Interrogate contractor programme to save time
- Value engineer schemes to maximise value of capital expenditure
- Lead tender process with the team to appoint the appropriate contractor and price
- Oversee CapEx planning and commercial performance
- Ensure compliance with UK building regulations and CDM
- Manage consultants, design team, contractors and brand technical teams
- Support pipeline growth through feasibility and due diligence of new schemes highlighting risks in building the projects
- Working with local councils in the planning of new schemes.
We’re looking for:
- 7+ years’ senior construction leadership experience
- Strong hospitality / hotel development background
- Deep understanding of UK planning, building regulations and CDM
- Proven experience delivering projects through to operational handover
- Experience working with internationally recognised hotel brands
