We are looking for an exceptional Deputy General Manager to help lead the continued success of the dual-branded Aloft Hotels & Residence Inn by Marriott Belfast, located in the iconic Titanic Quarter.
This is a unique opportunity to join one of Marriott International's most dynamic dual-branded hotels, bringing together the bold, energetic spirit of Aloft Hotels with the extended stay comfort of Residence Inn. Working alongside the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, delivering exceptional guest experiences, developing high-performing teams and achieving strong commercial results.
Position Summary
As Deputy General Manager, you will support the General Manager in the safe, efficient and profitable day-to-day operation of the hotel. You will provide leadership across all departments, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, strong financial performance and full compliance with Marriott brand standards. You will inspire and develop department leaders, champion service excellence and foster a culture where associates feel valued, engaged and empowered to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the overall leadership and day-to-day operation of the hotel.
- Drive operational excellence across all departments, ensuring brand standards are consistently achieved.
- Lead, coach and develop department heads and their teams, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
- Work with the General Manager to develop and implement strategic and commercial plans that maximise revenue, profitability and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor departmental performance through KPIs, guest feedback and financial results, implementing action plans where required.
- Ensure effective labour management, cost control and productivity across the operation.
- Champion exceptional guest experiences by responding proactively to guest feedback and continuously improving service delivery.
- Promote a positive workplace culture focused on colleague wellbeing, engagement, retention and development.
- Build strong relationships within the local community, corporate market and tourism sector to enhance the hotel's profile.
- Ensure full compliance with Marriott brand standards, health & safety legislation and company policies.
- Act as the General Manager in their absence, providing confident operational leadership and decision making.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Previous experience as a Deputy General Manager, Hotel Manager or senior operational leader within a branded hotel environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience delivering financial, operational and guest satisfaction targets.
- Excellent understanding of Marriott operating systems and platforms, including Opera PMS, MARSHA, GXP and other Marriott applications.
- Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate high-performing teams.
- Experience managing multiple departments within a full-service hotel operation.
- A hands-on leadership style with a passion for hospitality and service excellence.
