The Commercial Finance Manager will play a key role in supporting Group Finance leadership across development finance, commercial reporting, treasury, and performance monitoring. This role is responsible for financial oversight of assigned development projects, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong financial governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Development Finance & Project Reporting
- Maintain and update development cost trackers for all assigned projects.
- Ensure prompt and accurate development drawdowns, including liaison with lenders and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor development costs against approved budgets and highlight variances.
- Lead and attend weekly capex/development calls, providing financial insight and challenge.
- Prepare periodic project progress reports and board-level presentations.
- Produce management accounts for assigned development companies.
- Assist in development finance activities, including refinancing, new funding applications, and lender reporting.
- Manage covenant compliance reporting for relevant projects, ensuring full accuracy and timely submission.
- Treasury & Cash Management
- Produce and maintain the Group cashflow, ensuring regular updates and clear visibility of liquidity.
- Support Group treasury functions, including intercompany transactions and cash allocation.
- Commercial Finance & Group Reporting
- Carry out Group sales reconciliations, identifying trends and discrepancies.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships across Group entities, development teams, and lenders.
- Provide financial analysis, insight, and support to the GFC, GFD, ECFD, Directors, and other senior stakeholders.
- Assist with ad hoc financial tasks and projects as required by senior finance leadership.
- Financial Control & Governance
- Ensure strong adherence to financial controls, policies, and reporting standards.
- Support continuous improvements in financial processes and reporting accuracy.
- Monitor and escalate risks or issues impacting development project performance or cashflow.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in commercial finance, development finance, or project-based financial management.
- Proven experience managing cashflow, cost tracking, and financial reporting in a multi-entity environment.
- Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Ability to communicate confidently with senior stakeholders and external partners.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A strong team player with a can-do attitude, able to collaborate effectively across functions and work well with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
