About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to act as the client-side H&S representative across large-scale construction projects. You will play a key role in ensuring high standards of safety performance across multiple contractors and complex construction environments.
This is a high-impact role with significant site presence and includes stop-work authority where imminent danger is identified.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Safety Oversight
- Act as client H&S representative across active construction sites
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety management plans and legislation
- Conduct regular site inspections and structured H&S audits
- Ensure implementation of safe systems of work and risk controls
Risk & Incident Management
- Identify and escalate high-risk activities and non-compliance
- Review incident investigations and support root cause analysis
- Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively
- Support continuous improvement in site safety performance
Stakeholder & Compliance Management
- Work closely with contractors, project teams, and site leadership
- Participate in daily coordination and safety meetings
- Maintain accurate reporting, audits, and compliance documentation
- Support overall delivery of safe construction operations
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in construction Health & Safety
- Relevant qualification in Health & Safety or related discipline
- Strong knowledge of construction safety legislation
- Experience with ISO 45001 or equivalent safety systems
- Confident in risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-contractor environments
- Fluent English (additional languages beneficial)
