We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a leading project delivery organisation working across major energy, infrastructure and industrial developments.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the coordination and management of multidisciplinary design activities throughout the project lifecycle, from tender and pre-construction through to construction, commissioning and final handover.
This is a key role working closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, specialist subcontractors and project delivery teams to ensure design solutions are compliant, safe, buildable, programme-driven and commercially aligned.
Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across civil, structural, electrical, mechanical and process disciplines.
Manage design deliverables from concept through to construction and as-built stages.
Coordinate consultants, suppliers, equipment manufacturers and specialist subcontractors.
Manage technical submissions, RFIs, design changes, interfaces and design-related risks.
Support procurement, technical evaluations, value engineering and constructability reviews.
Ensure designs meet project requirements, relevant regulations and applicable industry standards.
Maintain design schedules, trackers, interface registers and action logs.
Work closely with construction and commissioning teams to support testing, energisation and project handover.
Ensure effective management of project documentation and digital information requirements.
Requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience in Design Management on major energy, infrastructure, industrial or construction projects.
Experience working on projects such as substations, battery storage, renewable energy, power generation or similar complex infrastructure.
Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering and construction interfaces.
Experience managing consultants, suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related technical discipline.
Experience with digital engineering and construction platforms such as ACC, Navisworks or similar would be advantageous.
