We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to oversee electrical contractors throughout installation and commissioning activities on a large-scale data centre project. The role will focus on ensuring installations meet required standards, commissioning activities are properly planned, and systems are ready for safe energisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop commissioning plans, start-up schedules and test documentation with contractors.
- Monitor electrical installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards and local codes.
- Provide technical guidance on cabling, containment, switchgear, electrical equipment and vendor systems.
- Coordinate commissioning activities between contractors, subcontractors and equipment suppliers.
- Conduct system walkdowns and inspections ahead of energisation.
- Support the development of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical switching procedures.
- Ensure commissioning documentation, test packs and as-built drawings are completed.
- Verify contractors have the appropriate test equipment and resources for commissioning.
- Oversee commissioning sequencing and support the safe handover of completed systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical commissioning management, ideally within data centre construction.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installations, testing and commissioning procedures.
- Experience coordinating electrical contractors, subcontractors and equipment vendors.
- Familiarity with commissioning documentation, energisation procedures and electrical safety requirements.
- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
