The opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Accountant to join our team. This role focuses on delivering robust financial reporting and governance while supporting FCA compliance, particularly within the scope of CASS5 procedures.

  • Supporting the continued development and implementation of our risk and controls framework, ensuring risks are identified, managed and mitigated according to our risk appetite in a timely manner.
  • Assisting the firm where required with regulator requests, internal and external audits and partner due diligence requests.
  • Support the business in the operation, analysis, and resolution of risk events/incident management including ensuring timely resolution of remedial actions.

The ideal candidate will excel in data consolidation, trend analysis, and performance monitoring while fostering a learning environment for colleagues and apprentices. The candidate will also have strong organisational and time management skills and a proactive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CASS5 Governance: Ensure compliance with FCA CASS5 rules and procedures across the organisation. Provide expert guidance to internal teams to enhance understanding and implementation of CASS5 governance. Regularly review and refine internal processes to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Statistical Reporting and Data Consolidation: Consolidate diverse sets of systems data into a unified, actionable view. Use advanced statistical analysis to identify trends and deliver insights on performance. Design and present high-quality statistical reports to stakeholders for decision-making.
  • FCA Reporting: Take a lead role in preparing and submitting FCA reports within the required deadlines. Develop and enhance internal reporting efficiencies, reducing submission time and errors. Collaborate with stakeholders to consolidate reports across the group’s regulated entities.
  • Team Support and Development: Collaborate closely with teams to ensure alignment with regulatory and financial goals. Support colleagues entering the organisation via the apprenticeship learning route. Develop and maintain curated learning pathways to upskill team members, fostering career progression and compliance expertise.
  • Performance Monitoring and Efficiency Enhancement: Internal Audit / Quarterly testing of controls to ensure the teams are operating effectively and compliantly. Actively monitor performance metrics to identify and address areas for improvement. Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and enhance reporting capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education and Certification: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Proven experience in implementing and managing CASS5 governance. Strong expertise in statistical reporting and presentation. Internal/External audit review and report presentation. Demonstrated ability to consolidate and analyse data from multiple systems. Previous involvement in FCA reporting and compliance submissions.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SQL). Familiarity with financial systems integration and reporting software.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and presentation abilities. Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience mentoring or supporting apprentices or junior staff.
  • Knowledge of group-level financial consolidation practices.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks beyond CASS5.
