Our client, a rapidly expanding Software business based in Beckenham, Greater London, is looking for an experienced Qualified Management Accountant to undertake all aspects of financial management. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day‑to‑day accounting function, the preparation of management accounts, and monthly reporting. Please note that this opportunity is 'OFFICE BASED'.

Responsibilities of the Management Accountant Role:

  • Manage the day‑to‑day administration and accounting function of the company, with the responsibility for a small team reporting directly to the Head of Finance.
  • Undertake the month‑end close process, including reconciliation of control accounts, to enable accurate and timely reporting of monthly management information.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including departmental P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Prepare and update departmental forecasts and report variance analysis against actuals and budgets.
  • Undertake KPI/margin analysis to drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to increase revenue and reduce/monitor costs across all departments.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
  • Assist with year‑end accounts.

Requirements of the Management Accountant role:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
  • Experience in preparing management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management.
  • Strong understanding of accounting under UK GAAP.
  • Organisation skills with the ability to effectively prioritise to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • First‑rate MS Excel skills and preferably experience using Sage Intacct and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
