A successful and growing SME business with a turnover in excess of £25m based in the Portsmouth area is looking to hire an ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Financial Controller to join them on a permanent basis. This role is based 4 days per week in the office and offers a clear progression path to become Finance Director for the right candidate. Reporting to the Finance Director and with clear visibility to the Senior Leadership Team, the Financial Controller will:
Duties of the Financial Controller Role:
- Oversee/design and implement Financial Controls to ensure that the organisation is best placed to minimalise any unnecessary losses
- Mentor and develop a small finance team
- Oversee the production of the monthly/quarterly management accounts to be reviewed by the Finance Director
- Engage with the stakeholders across
- Work alongside the Finance Director and Senior Leadership Team in providing commercial and strategic acumen to drive the business forward
Requirements of the Financial Controller Role:
- ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified Accountant
- Ambition to become a Finance Director
- 5-10 years PQE
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to mentor staff
- Proven commercial acumen within medium-sized companies.
