Our client is an innovative engineering technology business providing advanced cloud-based simulation software to customers across motorsport, automotive and sports science. Following continued growth, they are now seeking a Business Development Executive to support proactive customer acquisition across key technical markets. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional to join a highly technical and collaborative environment, helping to drive commercial growth across the UK and Europe.
The Role
- Identifying and engaging prospective customers across motorsport, automotive and sports science sectors
- Conducting proactive outreach via events, networking, phone, email and LinkedIn
- Meeting with prospective clients via online meetings, such as MS Teams
- Representing the business at industry events, conferences and trade exhibitions
- Qualifying inbound enquiries and converting them into commercial opportunities
- Running discovery conversations and coordinating technical demonstrations with internal engineering teams
- Managing opportunities through the full sales cycle from initial engagement to contract signature
- Maintaining accurate CRM, pipeline and forecasting information
The role is based from a modern innovation facility in West Northamptonshire, with good access from Warwick, Leamington Spa, Rugby, Banbury and Daventry.
Candidate Profile
- 1-3 years’ experience in B2B sales
- Experience within technical software, engineering services or a related technical sector would be advantageous
- A demonstrable ability to generate pipeline through proactive outreach activity
- Confidence with cold outreach alongside relationship-led business development
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage credibly with technical and engineering audiences
- Excellent organisational skills and self-motivation
- Willingness to very occasionally travel within the UK and Europe
Desirable experience includes
- Exposure to motorsport, automotive or sports science sectors
- Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive
- An engineering or technical academic background
Working Pattern
This is a full-time position; however, our client would also consider a part-time arrangement of approximately 20 hours per week for an exceptional candidate with closely aligned experience.
Package
- Basic salary up to £35,000 per annum (DOE), with a commission structure offering an OTE of up to £40,000-£50,000 per annum (again, Dependant On Experience)
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
