An exceptional opportunity has arisen at a top-ranked Legal 500 and Chambers-recognised boutique law firm, renowned for its work across the media and entertainment industries. With a deep heritage and enviable client list spanning globally recognised artists, creators, agents, and production companies, this firm remains at the forefront of media law and continues to invest heavily in its dispute resolution offering.

The firm commands an unparalleled reputation in music, theatre, TV, film, and the wider creative industries. A trusted advisor to some of the most high-profile names in the business, the firm provides a full service across both contentious and non-contentious matters.

The disputes department is one of the most dynamic in the market, comprising a well-balanced and highly experienced team of Partners, Senior Associates, and rising stars. The group is particularly known for advising musicians, actors, authors, influencers, comedians, podcasters, production companies, labels, agents and more across a full range of disputes including:

  • IP litigation (copyright, trademarks, performer rights)
  • Commercial disputes (breach of contract, partnership/shareholder issues)
  • Defamation, privacy, and reputation management
  • Management and talent disputes
  • Entertainment-specific claims involving band member disagreements, publishing/recording rights and more

The team culture is described as open, collegiate, and high performing. Critically, it is an environment that empowers lawyers to take on real responsibility from an early stage.

Due to continued growth and a clear succession strategy, the firm is seeking a 3-5 PQE Associate to join the Dispute Resolution team specialising in Media Litigation. This hire is due to growth and as such, it’s an opportunity created to support increasing demand and to allow the senior members of the team to focus more time on developing the business further; a structure that means your future progression prospects will be clear cut. This is a rare and exciting chance to slot into a high-performing, structured team and become a central figure within it, working directly with partners and shaping the department’s future. The team has a proven track record of promoting internally.

You will be a bright and technically excellent litigator with 3-5 years’ post-qualified experience in disputes. Ideally, you will have a background in media and entertainment litigation, although candidates with solid IP litigation or commercial litigation experience (particularly with creative sector clients) would be of interest.

You must have:

  • Strong academics
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills
  • The ambition to build a career in the media & entertainment space
  • A pragmatic, thoughtful approach to client handling and litigation strategy

Ideal candidates will come from similarly respected firms known for media/IP work.

Why Join?

  • First class client base with regular exposure to high-profile, headline making disputes
  • A mid sized team with clear structure and opportunity to progress. Real responsibility and autonomy, with genuine mentorship from senior lawyers
  • Strong, positive working culture with respect for work-life balance
  • Social budget and monthly firm events to foster team connection
  • Hybrid working: 4 days in the office, 1 from home
  • Competitive salaries depending on PQE
  • Joining a firm with a very strong track record of associate retention
