Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant with proven experience in audit and external financial reporting, as well as a strong understanding of IFRS. You will become an integral member of the Company's global finance team, focusing on financial reporting, regulatory reporting, financial analysis, and audit support. This role requires a relationship-oriented finance professional to manage the general accounting functions in the UK. This is a very hands-on role that requires one to be deeply immersed in the General Ledger, the Management Accounts, Excel-based reconciliation work, and financial statement preparation.
Responsibilities
- Own the financial reporting and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations in the UK.
- Manage interim and year-end account reconciliations process.
- Cover accounts payable, receivable, payroll, monthly tax remittances, and general ledger work.
- Maintain schedules in Excel, creating and processing journal entries as they relate to the general ledger using Sage Intacct accounting software.
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements).
- Prepare accurate and timely financial forecasts and budgets.
- Work closely with Senior Finance Team members who are located in North America.
- Support the preparation of tax filings and liaise with external accountants and auditors as needed.
- Ensure effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or overseas equivalent.
- Audit and external financial reporting.
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably involving a multi-national group structure.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables, V-lookups, Sum-Ifs).
- Confident and professional communicator with a proven track record of advising senior stakeholders on financial matters.
- A team player who would thrive in a collaborative culture.
- An understanding of European financial, banking, compliance, and reporting processes would be advantageous.
