A long-established Somerset firm is looking to appoint an Associate or Senior Associate to join its expert Wills, Tax & Trusts team based in Wells.
This is a role for someone who enjoys the substance and nuance of private client work - advising families, business owners and high-net-worth individuals on wills, inheritance tax, trusts, estate administration, and lasting powers of attorney. The work is varied, often complex, and always personal. You'll be working closely with clients and professional referrers alike, building relationships that often span generations.
The firm is looking for someone who will be based primarily in the Wells office, with regular client contact and strong links to local advisors forming a key part of the role.
What you’ll be doing:
- Drafting and advising on wills and succession planning
- Providing detailed inheritance tax and capital tax planning advice
- Creating and managing lifetime trusts and overseeing associated tax returns
- Administering estates
- Managing a portfolio of LPAs (property and financial affairs, health and welfare)
- Keeping up to date with legal and compliance developments
- Playing an active part in maintaining and growing professional relationships
