The Opportunity

  • This is a role for a junior real estate lawyer who wants to build their career in a team where property is central to the firm, not an add-on or a support function. Around half of the firm\’s revenue is generated by real estate and related work, which shapes everything from resourcing to progression.
  • You would be joining one of the strongest real estate teams in the region, based in Exeter, with real scale, depth and visibility. The work coming through the team reflects that strength, consistent, varied and often complex.

The Work

  • Your exposure would go far beyond routine transactions, with matters spanning investment, development, regeneration, asset management and funding across a wide range of sectors.
  • The team\’s client base is unusually broad, blending public and private work. That means advising on projects that shape communities and infrastructure, alongside commercial and institutional real estate mandates.
  • Because of the breadth of the practice, you are not forced into a narrow track early on. You can remain a well-rounded commercial property lawyer or, over time, carve out a niche in an area that genuinely interests you.

The Team & Progression

  • Progression here is not theoretical. Senior lawyers in the Exeter real estate team have grown internally from trainee and paralegal level, and that culture of development is well established.
  • You would be part of a sizeable, collaborative team, with the support and supervision expected of a large platform, but without feeling like a small cog in a much bigger machine.

Why This Role Makes Sense

  • If you want real estate work with scale, complexity and long-term career credibility, without needing to move to London, this is a rare platform in the Exeter market.
  • It suits a lawyer thinking beyond their first few PQE years, who wants to see how strong training, high-impact work and internal progression can shape their future.
