The Role
This is an opportunity to join one of Scotland\’s leading firms, within a highly reputable, L500 practice known for its expertise and long-standing client relationships.
The firm is well-regarded for its supportive, collegiate culture and its commitment to ensuring lawyers enjoy genuine work‑life balance.
You will join the Edinburgh Private Client team at an exciting period of continued growth. The role offers a broad and stimulating workload spanning asset protection, tax, executries (including contentious matters), succession planning, wills, POAs and guardianships.
Alongside this, you will manage your own clients, handle complex estates and contribute to the department\’s strategic development through business development and client engagement.
This is an opportunity with real long‑term potential: strong visibility, consistent client interaction, and a clear path for progression within a practice that invests heavily in its people.
The Work
- Managing a varied and high‑quality Private Client caseload
- Advising on executry administration, trusts and complex succession planning
- Drafting wills, powers of attorney and guardianship applications
- Working with a broad range of clients, including HNW individuals and families
- Taking responsibility for client relationships and delivering a tailored service
- Engaging in business development and profile‑raising initiatives
- Offering mentorship and day‑to‑day support to junior colleagues
Your Experience
- 5+ years PQE in Private Client work
- Strong experience managing both straightforward and complex estates
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic approach
- Ability to prioritise effectively and handle a varied workload
