Are you an accomplished lawyer with a passion for defending liability claims and tackling complex caseloads? We are seeking a skilled Solicitor (NQ-3) to join this Legal 500 Top 50 UK firm, based in Glasgow.

About the Role

As part of this specialist insurance team, you will manage a diverse portfolio of cases, focusing on defending employers\’ liability (EL), public liability (PL), and disease claims, as well as motor and fraud cases. You\’ll work on behalf of insurers, insured parties, and public sector clients, handling both pre-litigated and litigated claims.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive liability investigations.
  • Managing day-to-day casework, including liaising with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and witnesses.
  • Providing expert advice on EL/PL claims and broader personal injury litigation.
  • Collaborating with the wider team on high-value and complex cases.
  • Assisting with client development, training, and networking activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with deadlines, service standards, and key performance indicators.

    What We\’re Looking For

    To thrive in this role, you\’ll need:

  • Between NQ-3 years of post-qualification experience in insurance litigation.
  • Expertise in managing EL/PL claims; experience with motor, fraud, or disease claims is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of Scottish Court procedures, particularly the Court of Session and Sheriff Court.
  • Strong case management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive, adaptable mindset with a willingness to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
