Due to recent expansion, this innovative renewable energy business is actively searching for a skilled in-house Construction lawyer. This individual will lead on the development of multiple renewable energy construction projects throughout the United Kingdom.

Their seasoned team of professionals, spanning energy, engineering, and agriculture, takes on every project's full lifecycle - from development and construction to ongoing operations.
The Role
In this role, you will collaborate with the Senior Management team, overseeing the development and operation of the company's construction projects. Your responsibilities will involve leading negotiations on FIDIC, NEC3, and I.Chem.E contracts and service agreements. Additionally, you will manage various legal tasks, including terms and conditions, procurement, risk analysis, dispute resolution, governance, and more. Maintaining relationships with contractors, suppliers, and sub-contractors, and addressing contractual issues with counterparties will be an essential element of this role. You will also engage in creating project-specific reports, including Profit & Loss reporting, to safeguard the business from commercial risk. Ensuring adherence to governance from tender inquiries, you'll play a key role in developing and executing a profit improvement plan, collaborating with operational teams to achieve and manage performance against the businesses' objectives. Reporting directly to the General Counsel for the UK, you'll eventually gain exposure to a broad spectrum of commercial responsibilities, including general commercial contracts, data protection, compliance, HR, and more. This role is ideally suited for a Construction lawyer aspiring to advance to the position of Head of Legal/GC.
